Lagcoe Welcomes New Board Member, Joel Plauche

LAFAYETTE, LA [April 24, 2025] – Lagcoe is proud to announce the appointment of Joel Plauche to its Board of Directors, effective April 24, 2025. Plauche fills the seat previously held by longtime board member Bob Moore, whose service to Lagcoe spans more than a decade and has left an enduring legacy.

Joel Plauche currently serves as Vice President of HSE, Regulatory, and Compliance at Talos Energy, a role he assumed in February 2023. With over 30 years of expertise in Health, Safety, Environmental, and Regulatory Compliance—particularly in the Gulf of Mexico Shelf and Deepwater regions—Plauche brings a wealth of insight and operational leadership to Lagcoe. His career includes executive roles at EnVen Energy, Fieldwood Energy, Apache Corporation, and Callon Petroleum. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Clean Gulf Associates, Inc., where he has held positions as Chairman and Treasurer. A proud U.S. Army veteran, Plauche served in Operation Desert Storm and holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology from the University of Southwestern Louisiana.

At the same time, Lagcoe extends its deepest gratitude to Bob Moore, who has served on the Board since 2010, contributing across numerous leadership roles for the biennial Lagcoe Expo and key strategic committees. After stepping away in 2019, Moore returned in 2024 to once again lend his vision and voice to Lagcoe’s mission. His leadership was vital in launching new initiatives—including co-founding the beloved Roux Fest alongside Patrick Eiland—and his energy and passion have elevated some of Lagcoe’s most impactful networking and fundraising events.

While stepping away from formal board duties, Moore will continue to support Lagcoe as an ambassador. He remains an unwavering advocate for our work and a one-of-a-kind leader whose legacy continues to shape the energy industry in meaningful ways.
