Lagcoe Receives $5,000 Grant from Community Foundation of Acadiana to Expand Little Energizers Program

Lafayette, LA — October 24, 2025 — Lagcoe is proud to announce that its Little Energizers program has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Acadiana (CFA) through the Vermilion Affiliate Foundation. The grant is part of CFA’s Affiliate Grants Program, which awarded $161,100 to 34 community-based projects across Acadiana this year, supporting education, youth development, health, arts, and community initiatives.

The funding will help Professionals of Lagcoe expand Little Energizers into Vermilion Parish, bringing hands-on STEM and energy education to more elementary students. Through engaging activities, energy-themed books, and interactive STEM kits, the program introduces children to the world of science and the energy industry at an early age.

“We are incredibly excited about this support from the Community Foundation of Acadiana,” said Fumy Rita, Executive Director of Lagcoe. “This grant helps us continue building curiosity, confidence, and a love for STEM among young students. Expanding Little Energizers into Vermilion Parish means more children will have the opportunity to see themselves as the future of energy.”

The Little Energizers initiative is part of Lagcoe’s broader mission to educate, inspire, and connect future generations with opportunities in the energy industry. The program has already made a strong impact in Lafayette Parish, reaching hundreds of fourth-grade students each year through local school partnerships.
