Lagcoe Awards Final 2025 FEP Scholarship to Ethan Lejeune
LAFAYETTE, LA – Lagcoe is proud to announce the final recipient of its 2025 Future Energy Professionals (FEP) Scholarship: Ethan Lejeune, a graduating senior who attended the Lafayette Christian Academy, who has been awarded $3,300 to support his pursuit of a STEM-related degree at a Louisiana community college.
His selection marks the conclusion of this year’s FEP Scholarship cycle, which has awarded over $19,000 in total to outstanding high school seniors across Acadiana who demonstrate passion and potential in STEM fields.
Ethan earned the scholarship after participating in Lagcoe’s Future Energy Professionals Tour, an immersive industry experience that connects students with professionals in energy-related careers. His application stood out for its thoughtful essay, strong academic performance, and commitment to pursuing a technical education pathway.
“This award recognizes students like Ethan who are taking bold steps toward building a future in the energy industry,” said Fumy Rita, Executive Director of Lagcoe. “We’re especially proud to support those choosing Louisiana’s community colleges as their launchpad—our industry needs a wide range of talent and skillsets, and Ethan represents exactly that.”
This marks the final FEP Scholarship to be awarded from Lagcoe’s Education Fund for the 2025 cycle. The next round of scholarship applications will open in 2027.

About the FEP Scholarship:
The Future Energy Professionals Scholarship is awarded every other year to Louisiana high school juniors and seniors who participate in Manufacturing Week Tours at Lagcoe-approved energy companies or Lagcoe’s official FEP Tours. It is designed to support goal-oriented students planning to pursue a STEM-related degree at a Louisiana college or university.
To be eligible, students must have participated in an approved tour, maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and intend to pursue a STEM discipline. The application requires two letters of recommendation from teachers or STEM professionals, a certified high school transcript, and a handwritten personal essay. All applications are submitted through a secure online portal managed by the Community Foundation of Acadiana, where the FEP Scholarship Fund is housed.
Recipients are selected through a rigorous multi-month review process conducted by a committee of educators and industry professionals from across the state. More scholarship recipients will be announced in the coming weeks. To learn more about the FEP Scholarship and view this year’s awardees, visit www.lagcoe.com.
