Leon Charles Moncla Jr. was bestowed the highest Lagcoe title Looey in 2015 as the 35th Lagcoe Looey, in recognition of his 45-plus years of service in the oil and gas industry. Moncla started off working for his father-in-law, Cecil Guinn at Pelican Well Service in 1977 and helped led the company with widow Virginia Guinn several years later when Ceil passed away. He worked for 12 years and became the company’s vice president. In 1984, Moncla began his own business, Moncla Well Service, Inc. He grew the company from six employees and one rig to over a thousand employees and fifty-three rigs when he sold it in 2007. He retired for a brief period before he became the CEO of Platinum Energy Solutions, Inc. in 2011. In 2014, Platinum Energy Solutions was sold. Throughout his career, Moncla actively participated in professional associations and as a proud alumnus, he continues to support UL Athletics. Moncla is known for his dependable support and dedication, sponsorship to Lagcoe.
