Charlie Milam was a trail blazer in business. Milam was born in Louisiana and SLI (now UL Lafayette). After fighting alongside other U.S army during the Korean war, he worked in an oilfield company before starting his first company Reamco Inc. He sold the company in 1963, ten after it started and retired, but the drive to still work in the oil field made him venture back into oil and gas in 1977 and founded his second company Petro Drive, and from there went on to have other several drilling companies. He was bestowed Lagcoe highest honor in 1993, making him the 25th Lagcoe Looey for his dedication to both the industry and his community.
