W.A “Stud” Grapes served as part of the first set of executive committees of Lagcoe. He was part the first set of Lagcoe board of directors. He was the president of Falcon Seaboard Drilling Co. In 1961, he became Exposition co-chairman and the president of Gradome Drilling Company. In 1957, he was part of the first Lagcoe exhibit judges in the Lagcoe exposition.
