Volunteer with Lagcoe

Lagcoe is seeking volunteers to join us in delivering our Little Energizers Program! As a volunteer, you'll have the opportunity to share insights about your role in the energy industry while assisting children in building STEM kits. Each volunteer session lasts just one hour, making it easy to fit into your schedule. We have events scheduled at Evangeline Elementary, Raphael Baranco Elementary, and Milton Elementary, as well as at the Boys and Girls Club of Acadiana. LAGCOE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR HONORED BY UWA

Fumy Rita recognized as a Women Who Mean Business Honoree

Fumy Rita, Executive Director of Lagcoe, has been selected as one of the esteemed honorees for the 2024 Women Who Mean Business Awards by United Way of Acadiana. Fumy Rita joins a distinguished group of six remarkable women recognized for their outstanding contributions to the Acadiana community: Dr. Phebe Hayes, Retired UL Lafayette Professor & Dean Emerita; Missy Bienvenu Andrade, President & CEO of Community Foundation of Acadiana; Roya Boustany, Assistant District Attorney – Track 4 Chief, 15th JDC District Attorney’s Office; Diane Meaux Broussard, Vermilion Parish Clerk of Court; and Minister Ellen Nora, Executive Director of Solomon House. The awards ceremony, held on May 9, 2024, celebrated the achievements of these trailblazing female leaders, highlighting their invaluable impact on the region. This annual event, which has been a cherished tradition since 1999, honors Acadiana's female business leaders and their significant contributions to the community.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE GRADUATES

Congratulations on your graduation from UL Lafayette, Emma! Emma has received her B.S. in Marketing and will return to work toward her Master's in Business Administration. Your dedication shines through, and we're thrilled to see you continue your academic journey!

Hats off to Tiara! Last week, she accepted her B.A. in Strategic Communications from UL Lafayette. She will be returning in the Fall to pursue her Master of Science in Communication. Wishing you all the best on your endeavors!

Alyse, of the Alyse Naquin Foundation, which benefited from a portion of the proceeds from the Roux Fest Gumbo Cookoff powered by Lagcoe, graduated from St. Thomas More Catholic High School this past weekend. Alyse intends to pursue her education at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
