LAGCOE News - June 2019
LAGCOE 2019 Space Almost Sold Out
New Hall Opens Due to Demand
With only five months remaining until LAGCOE 2019, we are excited to share that Hall H, the hall originally allocated for exhibitors, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center is almost sold out! Fortunately for LAGCOE, the size of the convention center allows for the opening of a second hall, Hall G, immediately next door. This expansion only makes LAGCOE 2019 more successful for everyone involved.

While encompassing two halls, the expo floor will appear as one seamless space with booths continuing throughout. This will be the largest indoor square footage for exhibitors in LAGCOE's 63-year history! Read more here .

For those interested in securing a booth space, contact Nicole at the LAGCOE office.
Early-Bird Pricing for Registration Deadline June 30

As a reminder to those planning to attend LAGCOE 2019, early-bird pricing for attendees ends June 30, 2019. Make sure to register today to take advantage of these early-bird savings, as prices will increase on July 1.
LAGCOE Coffee Chats and Happy Hours Were a Success

LAGCOE recently hosted a series of open-house events to mix and mingle, hear from members, and provide an opportunity to ask questions regarding LAGCOE 2019. Corinne Sprague, Events and Volunteer Coordinator, hosted early morning Coffee Chats and late afternoon Happy Hours to accommodate our guests' schedules. A special thank you to all those who were able to attend.
LAGCOE Attends Graduation Ceremonies for FEP Scholarship Recipient

LAGCOE Education Coordinator, Lori Gauthier, was excited to attend graduation ceremonies for Brandon Mitchell in May. Brandon is a proud Pine Prairie High School graduate and one of our 2017 LAGCOE FEP scholarship recipients. Brandon plans to attend SLCC in the fall and enroll in the Oil & Gas Production Technology program.

Congratulations, Brandon!

LAGCOE staff attended OTC from May 6-9, 2019 as a co-exhibitor in the Louisiana in Energy booth. Connections were made with previous and new exhibitors, sponsors and attendees – both here and abroad - who are interested in participating in LAGCOE 2019 in New Orleans.

Fumy Rita, LAGCOE's new Programs Coordinator was able to attend STEM Day at New Orleans Baby Cakes baseball stadium. After thoroughly enjoying her day, she said, “This is one of my favorite things about my job, the opportunity we have to foster education for and about the energy industry. Today at the Hands-On STEM Day at the Ballpark I got to meet bright minds.”
Welcome New LAGCOE Staff
Things move quickly in the LAGCOE office, especially when it’s a show year. With the exciting move to New Orleans and the logistics associated with a new venue, we have added some new, friendly faces to our team.

Nicole C. Needham grew up in an oilfield family while attending LAGCOE. She managed her family-owned, oilfield-services company, Southwest Oilfield, for eight years when her father semi-retired. She previously worked for the U.S. House of Representatives, served eight years on the Republican State Central Committee, and worked as a political consulting/campaign manager.

Fumilayo “Fumy” Rita was born in Moscow, Russia, raised in Lisbon, Portugal, but her roots trace back to the Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe. She is a graduate of UL Lafayette where she worked as a research and teaching assistant, while she also taught at South Louisiana Community College and interpreted/translated for numerous companies. She is no stranger to LAGCOE, having served as a volunteer, and also worked as the Information and Translation Specialist, for the Lafayette International Center.

Welcome aboard.
