Dr. John Carrier

John Carrier is a Senior Lecturer of System Dynamics at the MIT Sloan School of Management. 

Carrier instructs senior managers on improving manufacturing and business processes and serves as an on-site coach in support of projects. His research focuses on strategic marketing and new business development in high technology, specialty chemicals, and service segments. Carrier has more than 15 years of experience in a variety of corporate, entrepreneurial, and consulting environments. Since 2006, he has worked with Arsenal Capital Partners as director of Six Sigma, where he is responsible for increasing portfolio company valuation by adapting and applying Six Sigma techniques to midsize companies. Carrier also handles due diligence, post-merger integrations, and financial analysis and improvement. Prior to joining Arsenal Capital Partners, he was employed by Grace Construction Products; Bain & Company, Inc.; and SuperCool LLC. 

Carrier holds a BS in chemical engineering from the University of Michigan, a PhD in chemical engineering from MIT, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Ron Gusek

Ron Gusek has been the President of Liberty Energy since November 2016. Before assuming the role of President, Ron was the VP of Technology and Development from 2014. Over the past 20 years, Ron has garnered extensive oil and gas experience in North America, and extended his knowledge of operations through travels to Asia, Russia and the Middle East.

Within Liberty, Ron’s focus includes new technology and innovation, service quality, efficiency and optimization.

Ron holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta.

Ron has also held previous roles at Sanjel Corporation, Zodiac Exploration, and Pinnacle Technologies, with a primary focus on hydraulic fracturing in unconventional reservoirs.

Ron is a published SPE author and presenter. His dedication to the petroleum engineering community and interest in shared industry knowledge is evident in his numerous volunteer capacities, which include the Denver Petroleum Club, COGA and the Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation Executive Committee and Energy Coalition.

Outside of work, Ron is a husband, father, runner, cyclist, hiker, skier and occasional adventure racer.
